Welcome to the Land Information Administration and Valuation Unit (LIAVU). Our unit is responsible for overseeing Government Lease Land and certain Private Lands specifically in South Tarawa. As part of our duties, we maintain comprehensive records of all registered lease lands administered by the Government, spanning from Makin to Arorae. We are committed to ensuring that all land information is accurately documented and accessible for public and Government use.

We are committed to accurately documenting land information and making it readily accessible. Additionally, we offer technical land valuation advice and assist the Government in making informed decisions regarding new rates. We also provide various valuation services, including compensation rates needed for public purposes.

For many years, our unit has supported the financial estates of Native deceased individuals, helping to safeguard their children’s financial assets until they come of age. Therefore, we manage a variety of payments for all Government leases each year, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for everyone involved.
